The Original Hard Lemonade
Launched in 1995 as Hoopers Hooch, it was the UK's first 'hard lemonade', igniting the alcopop craze. Named after 19th-century chemist William Hooper, it brought a "home brew" feel with a kick, setting the stage for an unforgettable era.
-
A Fruity Game-Changer
Hooch was an instant hit, loved for its fruity flavour and cheeky attitude. Just a year after launching, it expanded with apple and blackcurrant flavours, backed by the refreshment that deserves respect" campaign.
-
Dominaiting the Alcopop Scene
Hooch took the alcopop world by storm, grabbing a massive 70% market share and peaked at 2.5 million bottles sold every week! It quickly became a staple of 90s culture, riding the wave of "Cool Britannia" that swept across the UK.
-
Going International
After its massive UK success, Hooch hit the road in '97, exploring first to the USA and South Africa, where it quickly took off. Soon, it was being enjoyed from Russia to Korea, Switzerland, and beyond, making Hooch an international legend.
-
Flavours that Left a Mark
With Hooch's growth came some unforgettable limited editions:"Hoola," a summer pineapple and grapefruit mix, follows by "Hoho," a Christmas cranberry release with only 15 bottles made! Then came "Smooch," a passionfruit hit that rounded off the range.
-
The Farewell & The Comeback
Before leaving the shelves, Hooch went through a redesign and added new formats with Hooch Light and Vodka Hooch. In 2003, former owners Bass Brewery called last orders, with the final bottle going out of date in March 2004.
-
Back in Action in 2012
After nearly 10 years away, Hooch made a big comeback in 2012 with Global Brands bringing it back as Hooch Alcoholic Brew. Soon, the lineup grew with Orange, Blackcurrant, and Apple, reintroducing Hooch to a whole new generation.
-
The Big Comeback
Hooch's return came in style at the Publican Awards with Keith Lemon leading the charge and our iconic "Hoo's for an OOOCH" TV ad lighting up screens. This epic relaunch put Hooch back on the map and set the tone for big things to come.

Bold New Flavours & Formats
We shook things up with exciting new flavours and formats, jumping into the spirit category, relaunching the nostalgic Orange, and evolving the cult-favorite Hoola into Blue. And the real show-stealer Pink Hooch, which became the biggest RTD launch of 2020, bringing in a juicy £2.1m to the category.

2022: The Year of Lemons

New Year, New Range
